DwayneCam App Reviews

Would be perfect with one addition

Hey, this is perfect for seeing behind my desk when people walk up. HOWEVER, I really wish it had mirror functionality! I’ve been just leaving photobooth up all day to serve this purpose but I have it mirrored so that when people walk up on the left side of my screen, they are actually physically on my left side. This is a big thing for me - but that’s the only reason I gave it less than 5 stars!

simple legant app everyone doesnt know they need and want!

THis is a wicked handy app to monitor one or more webcams at once at any screen size. Love the switching cam by clicking on screen function. I wonder how hard it would be to make it so that the app would appear as a video source in flash settings(like manycam). THen it could be used as a cam switcher for ones webcam broadcast.

CCTV

I was trying to deliver a video feed from the Sanctuary to another room to serve overflow for a large funeral. By connecting my Canon DV video cam to my Macbook via firewire and running 100’ of ethernet to the other room, I was able to provide video to those who were not able to be with the main group. Using OSX’s built-in screen sharing, the installation was a snap. DwayneCam recognized my Canon, allowed me to fullscreen the image, ran on top of all applications and provided a fairly smooth picture.

GOOD BUT...

Overall, I think this app is really good! I can resize it to any size I want and it works really well with the QuickTime Player except for one thing, When I was reviewing my video that had the face cam using this app I noticed that about every few minutes there was a weird audio glitch. Basically what would happen was one second of the video would be cut out. For example I would be in the middle of a sentence and all of a sudden it would skip to the end of my sentence and i would not be able to tell what I had just said. Everything else about this app is amazing except for this one little bug. Please fix this!
